Description

High Elongation FEP Perforated Release Film – 60" (NRF-5000)

NRF-5000 is a high-elongation FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) perforated release film engineered for vacuum bagging and prepreg processing. Rated for cure cycles up to 500°F (260°C), it provides excellent release with most commercial resin systems. The perforations allow controlled resin bleed and venting while the film’s stretch helps it conform over tight radii and complex contours, reducing pleats and bridging. Bright red, white, and violet color options are highly visible against cured parts and will not transfer color to the laminate.

Key Features

  • Material: FEP perforated release film for clean, reliable release
  • High Temperature: Max use up to 500°F (260°C)
  • High Elongation: Conforms to complex shapes; minimizes bridging in corners
  • Perforations: Supports air evacuation and controlled resin bleed into breather/bleeder
  • Resin Compatibility: Works with most epoxy, polyester, and vinyl ester systems
  • Visibility: Red, white, and violet films are easy to see; no color transfer
  • Width: 60" (152.4 cm) for efficient coverage

Typical Applications

  • Prepreg and wet layup vacuum bagging where a perforated release layer is required
  • Complex contoured parts (fairings, ducts, hull features) benefiting from stretchable release film
  • Marine, aerospace, automotive, and industrial composite production and repairs

Processing Guidelines

  • Place FEP perforated film over the laminate and under breather/bleeder to allow resin/volatiles to pass.
  • Plan for slightly slower infusion flow than with non-stretch films; position ports/flow media accordingly.
  • Keep cure temperatures at or below 500°F (260°C). Avoid sharp edges; tape or radius tight corners.
