Description

H5000 Hardener (for R3501 Epoxy Resin)

H5000 Hardener is the designated curing agent for the R3501 Epoxy Resin(resin sold separately). Together, the system provides dependable room-temperature cure with the option for warm post-cure, delivering strong, durable bonds for laminating, bonding, coating, and general composite repair work.

Key Benefits

  • System-matched: Formulated specifically to cure R3501 for predictable results and consistent quality.
  • High adhesion & durability: Tough bonds and excellent mechanical strength after full cure.
  • Good handling: Efficient wet-out and smooth film formation for hand layup or vacuum-assisted processes.
  • Clean finish: Suitable for coatings and laminates that require a professional appearance.
  • Versatile: Effective on composites, wood, and properly prepared metals and foams.

Typical Applications

  • Composite laminating (hand layup, vacuum bag, general shop builds)
  • Structural bonding, fillets, and secondary bonding
  • Coating and sealing of patterns, plugs, and fixtures
  • Field repairs and maintenance of composite parts

Mixing & Use

  • Use only with R3501 Epoxy Resin (sold separately).
  • Follow the mix ratio (by volume or weight) specified on the R3501/H5000 system TDS.
  • Measure accurately and mix thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the cup.
  • Apply in thin films or small batches to control exotherm; larger masses will gel faster.
  • If amine blush appears, wash with clean water and a light abrasive pad before sanding or recoating.

Safety

  • Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection; ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Avoid skin contact; wash with soap and water after handling.
  • Consult the product SDS for full precautions and first-aid information.

Note: Pot life, gel time, recoat windows, and final properties depend on temperature, batch size, and the specific application. For exact parameters and cure schedules, refer to the H5000/R3501 Technical Data Sheet.
