Description

R3501 Epoxy Resin

R3501 is a high-quality, low-viscosity epoxy resin formulated for vacuum infusion and other closed-mold processes. It wets out reinforcement quickly and flows uniformly to help produce void-free laminates with consistent fiber volume.

Required hardener:H5000 Hardener(sold separately). Use only with the matched H5000 curing agent to achieve the specified cure and properties.

Key Features

  • Low viscosity for infusion: Promotes fast wet-out and even resin distribution.
  • Clean processing: Designed to minimize air entrapment and dry spots in complex layups.
  • Consistent results: System-matched with H5000 for predictable cure and strong, durable laminates.
  • Shop friendly: Suitable for hand layup, VARTM/vacuum infusion, and light RTM workflows.
  • Made in the USA (per supplier information).

Typical Applications

  • Composite panels, marine parts, automotive and general fabrication
  • Molds, plugs, and repairs where uniform wet-out and flow are critical
  • Vacuum infusion (VARTM) and other closed-mold processes

Mixing & Use

  • Mix R3501 with H5000 Hardener at the ratio specified on the system TDS (by volume or weight).
  • Measure accurately and blend thoroughly, scraping sides and bottom of the cup to ensure a uniform mix.
  • Control exotherm: pour into a shallow tray or apply in thin sections; larger masses gel faster.
  • If surface amine blush is present after cure, wash with clean water and a light abrasive pad before sanding or overcoating.
  • For maximum properties, follow any recommended post-cure schedule on the TDS.

Safety & Storage

  • Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection; ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Avoid skin contact; wash with soap and water after handling.
  • Store sealed in a cool, dry location. Consult the SDS and TDS for full safety and handling guidance.

Note: This listing is for the R3501 epoxy resin only. The compatible H5000 Hardener is sold separately.
