1799-006 Duratec Grey Vinyl Ester Primer – 1 Gallon

Duratec® 1799-006 Grey Vinyl Ester Primer is a high-quality, high-build primer engineered for composite and marine surfaces. As part of the Duratec Marine System, this vinyl ester primer delivers excellent adhesion, long-term durability, and an easy-to-sand surface that saves time in both repair and production work. Formulated for use above and below the waterline, it is ideal for composite yacht priming, osmosis and blister repair, pattern surfacing, and mold surfacing.

This grey vinyl ester primer can be applied by spray, roller, or brush, and builds quickly to a thick, protective film without sagging—especially useful on vertical hull sides and complex composite shapes. When catalyzed with MEKP-925 (sold separately), the primer cures rapidly and is typically ready for sanding in 1–4 hours, depending on film thickness and temperature. Proven in the field on thousands of boats and yachts, Duratec Vinyl Ester Primer provides excellent osmosis and blister resistance and reliable heat resistance up to 280°F.
