Duratec® 904-001 Clear Hi-Gloss Additive is a proven gelcoat additive and surface improver with over 20 years of use throughout North America and Europe. It is designed to upgrade standard gelcoats for repair or production work, reducing porosity and orange peel while delivering a high-gloss, hard, smooth finish that polishes quickly. Ideal for gelcoat repairs, tooling gelcoat upgrades, and cosmetic finishing on composite parts and molds.

Recommended Uses

Gelcoat Repair

• Use test blends as needed to confirm cure time and gloss.
• Prepare the repair area by removing damaged gelcoat and ensuring a sound laminate.
• Feather sand the edges and use repair putty to fill low spots as required.
• Blend Duratec 904-001 Clear Hi-Gloss Additive with gelcoat at the recommended ratio.
• Catalyze with MEKP-925 (or as recommended by the gelcoat supplier).
• Spray multiple light coats, allowing flash time between passes, then cure fully before sanding and polishing.

Tooling Gelcoat Upgrades

• Blend Duratec 904-001 with tooling gelcoat to improve flow, sprayability, and surface quality.
• Catalyze with MEKP-925 catalyst per the gelcoat manufacturer’s instructions.
