Description

Carbon Fiber Fabric — 8-Harness Satin (8HS) · 3k · 10.9oz (≈370gsm) · 50" Width

This premium carbon fabric uses a 3k tow in an 8-Harness Satin (8HS) weave to deliver excellent drape, a tight cosmetic face, and fast laminate build-up. At 10.9oz (≈370gsm), it is a versatile mid/heavy weight that lays down smoothly over complex contours while producing a refined, low-print finish suitable for clear coat. The 8HS construction bridges corners better than plain or twill weaves, reducing fiber distortion and print-through on visible parts.

Why builders choose this fabric

  • 8HS drape & cosmetics: conforms to tight radii; leaves a smooth, premium surface.
  • 3k reinforcement: dependable balance of stiffness, strength, and workability.
  • Fast build: 10.9oz weight reduces ply count vs. lighter fabrics.
  • Versatile system compatibility: wets out cleanly with epoxy (preferred) and works with vinyl-ester or polyester where appropriate.

Typical applications

Visible carbon skins, structural and cosmetic panels, motorsports and powersports components, marine hardware, UAV/RC airframes, instrument housings, industrial panels, and hybrid layups with glass or aramid for improved impact performance.
