Description

Carbon Fiber Fabric – 2x2 Twill • 6K • 11 oz (≈372 gsm) • Commercial Grade

This versatile 6K 2×2 twill carbon fiber cloth delivers the classic carbon look with the drape you want for hand layup, vacuum bagging, and infusion. The commercial-grade construction features a tighter, cleaner weave than many entry-level fabrics, helping you achieve straighter bundles, fewer pinholes, and a better-looking final part at an excellent value. Available in 50″ and 60″ widths for efficient coverage on large panels.

Why builders choose this fabric

  • 6K tow / 2×2 twill: balanced strength with easy drape over complex shapes; iconic carbon appearance.
  • 11 oz (≈372 gsm): a robust single-ply for general laminating, skins, and cosmetic outer layers.
  • Tight commercial weave: improved fiber straightness and cosmetics compared to budget cloths.
  • Process-friendly: performs well in hand layup, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion.
  • Value & availability: consistent, high-value fabric for production or one-off projects.

Typical applications

  • Automotive & motorsport: bodywork, dashboards, interior trim, aero panels, brackets
  • Marine & watersports: panels, boards, foils, hatches, instrument housings
  • UAV/robotics & consumer products: frames, arms, shells, cases, sporting goods
  • Cosmetic skins where a premium 2×2 twill finish is desired

Layup tips

  • Use 2×2 twill as an outer cosmetic ply over structural orientations (0/90° and ±45°) for stiffness and stability.

  • For large panels, choose 60″ width to reduce seams and labor.
