Carbon Fiber Fabric 2x2 Twill Triaxial 0/+60/-60 Degree 3k/6k 8oz/271gsm Hexcel AS4C
Description
Carbon Fiber Fabric – 2x2 Twill Triaxial 0/ +60/ -60 • 3k/6k • 52″/132 cm • 8 oz / 271 gsm • Hexcel AS4C
Build near–quasi-isotropic laminates in a single ply with this premium triaxial 0/ +60/ -60 carbon fiber fabric. The 2×2 twill face provides a smooth, cosmetic surface while the three fiber orientations deliver balanced stiffness and strength in-plane—perfect for parts that see loads from multiple directions.
Manufactured with Hexcel AS4C aerospace-grade carbon fiber (bias 3k and axial 6k tows) using A&P Technology Qiso-L-52 construction, this fabric lays down quickly, drapes cleanly over complex geometry, and reduces the number of plies and seams required compared with conventional 0/90 or ±45 layups.
Key Specifications
- Weave / Construction: Triaxial 0° / +60° / −60° with a 2×2 twill face
- Fiber: Hexcel AS4C (3k bias, 6k axial) – aerospace performance
- Areal Weight: ~8 oz (≈ 271 gsm)
- Usable Width: 52″ (132 cm)
- Tow Size: 3k / 6k combination
- Finish: Smooth twill face for cosmetic parts and easy wet-out
- Compatible Systems: Epoxy, vinyl-ester, polyester, infusion & prepreg processes
Why Triaxial 0/+60/−60?
- Balanced, multi-directional properties in a single layer for efficient layups.
- Fewer plies & seams versus stacking 0/±45 fabrics—saves time and resin.
- Excellent drape & consolidation from the twill face and spread tow architecture.
- Stable cloth that resists fraying for cleaner trimming and less edge print-through.
Typical Applications
- Motorsports bodywork, aero panels, splitters & diffusers
- UAV/Drone airframes, robotics structures & gimbals
- Marine & sporting-goods laminates requiring cosmetic twill finish
- High-performance panels, enclosures, instrument housings
Processing Notes
Wet-out with a quality laminating resin or epoxy system. Consolidate by hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, or vacuum infusion for the best fiber-to-resin ratio and surface finish.
Sold by the linear yard. Continuous yardage ships on a one roll when possible.
How We Sell
We sell this fabric by the linear yard. You will receive a continuous piece of fabric at the width listed.
For example, if the fabric is 50" wide, a quantity of 1 (linear yard) equals a continuous piece measuring 50" wide × 36" long. A quantity of 5 (linear yards) equals a continuous piece measuring 50" wide × 180" long.
