Carbon Fiber Fabric 2x2 Twill Weave 24k 50"
Description
Carbon Fiber Fabric — 2×2 Twill, 24K, 50″
Heavy 2×2 twill carbon fabric built with 24K tow for fast thickness build and high stiffness. The twill pattern drapes cleanly over contours while maintaining a professional cosmetic finish, making it a reliable reinforcement for large panels, tooling faces, and structural skins.
Why Use This Fabric
- Fewer plies, faster layups: High areal weight and 24K tow reduce ply count and labor.
- Good drape over curves: 2×2 twill conforms better than plain weave while holding a crisp pattern.
- Structural performance: Suitable as primary reinforcement or backing plies in multi-layer laminates.
Typical Applications
Body and aero panels, marine components, robotics/UAV structures, boards and frames, mold skins and backing plies, and repair patches where strength, stiffness, and repeatable handling are required.
Process Compatibility
Works with epoxy (recommended for structural parts), vinyl ester, and polyester systems. Appropriate for wet layup, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion following the resin manufacturer’s TDS.
Handling & Storage
- Cut with composite shears or a rotary cutter; seal edges as needed to limit fray.
- Keep clean and dry; store in original packaging away from UV and moisture until use.
- For tight radii, blend with lighter plies or smaller-tow fabrics in transition areas.
Performance depends on layup schedule, resin system, and cure. If you need exact roll data (e.g., ends/picks per inch or nominal thickness per ply), please contact us before building.
