Carbon Fiber Fabric Biaxial +45/-45 Degree 50k 50"/127cm 5.9oz/200gsm Zoltek PX35 Fiber
Description
Carbon Fiber Fabric – Biaxial ±45° (50k) · 50in/127cm · 5.9oz/200gsm · Zoltek PX35
Engineered for efficient, high-strength laminates, this fabric uses Zoltek PX35 50k tow that is stitched into a non-crimp biaxial architecture with fibers oriented at ±45°. The NCF (non-crimp) construction keeps the tows straight for better load transfer than traditional woven cloth while the light stitch holds the fabric stable during layup. At 200 gsm (5.9 oz/yd²) and 50 in (127 cm) wide, it’s a cost-effective structural ply for adding shear and torsional stiffness or building thickness quickly.
Key benefits
- Balanced ±45° orientation ideal for shear and torsional loads.
- Non-crimp stitched (NCF) for reduced fiber crimp and improved mechanical properties.
- Lightweight 200 gsm for quick laminate build-up with minimal weight gain.
- Zoltek PX35 50k carbon – reliable, high-value PAN-based fiber for structural parts.
- Excellent handling for wet layup, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion.
Typical applications
Load-bearing panels and skins, torsion boxes, tubes and beams, marine and automotive structures, UAV/robotics parts, and as a bulk/structural underlayer beneath a cosmetic outer fabric. Note: The stabilizing stitch lines make this fabric less suitable for an exposed cosmetic finish.
Processing & compatibility
- Compatible with epoxy, vinyl ester, and polyester resins.
- To turn the fabric into a solid laminate, use an appropriate resin or epoxy system for your project.

Sold by the linear yard (36" length x 50" width) Multiple yardages are rolled on one continuous roll when possible.
How We Sell
We sell this fabric by the linear yard. You will receive a continuous piece of fabric at the width listed.
For example, if the fabric is 50" wide, a quantity of 1 (linear yard) equals a continuous piece measuring 50" wide × 36" long. A quantity of 5 (linear yards) equals a continuous piece measuring 50" wide × 180" long.
