Carbon Fiber Fabric Veil Chopped Mat .20oz/7gsm
Description
Carbon Fiber Fabric Veil – Chopped Strand Mat – 38 in / 96.5 cm
Ultra-light carbon fiber veil (random-oriented chopped strands) designed for surface finishing, print-through reduction, and improved resin flow during vacuum infusion. The veil wets out instantly and adds negligible weight, creating a uniform, paint-ready outer ply over woven fabrics or cores.
Key Benefits
- Reduces weave telegraphing / print-through for a smoother cosmetic finish.
- Enhances infusion flow and resin distribution across the part surface.
- Improves interlaminar toughness and scratch resistance of the outer ply.
- Conductive carbon veil—useful where ESD/conductivity is desired.
- Wets out quickly with epoxy, vinyl ester, or polyester resins; easy hand-cutting.
- Minimal weight gain: available in 7 GSM to suit finish goals.
Typical Uses
- Cosmetic outer ply under clear coat or paint to minimize fabric texture.
- First ply against peel ply during infusion to improve flow and surface quality.
- Surface veil over sandwich cores to create a uniform bondline and finish.
- Cosmetic repair skins and fairing layers where low mass is critical.

How We Sell
We sell this fabric by the linear yard. You will receive a continuous piece of fabric at the width listed.
For example, if the fabric is 50" wide, a quantity of 1 (linear yard) equals a continuous piece measuring 50" wide × 36" long. A quantity of 5 (linear yards) equals a continuous piece measuring 50" wide × 180" long.
