Frekote FMS Industrial Mold Sealer

Frekote FMS Industrial Mold Sealer is a high-performance sealer used to prepare mold surfaces prior to applying a release agent (e.g., Frekote 700-NC). Suitable for hand layup, vacuum bagging, vacuum infusion, RTM, and autoclave processes. Wipe on, wipe off—no buffing required. Approximate shelf life: 9 months

Surface Preparation

• Mold must be clean and free of waxes, previous releases, or contaminants.
• Remove heavy resin build-up with a suitable cleaning solvent.
• If abrasives are used, keep grit at or below the tool’s original finish.

Application (FMS Sealer)

1. Using a low-lint towel or microfiber cloth, apply a thin, continuous wet film.
2. Work in small sections; do not re-wipe until the solvent flashes off.
3. Within seconds, wipe clean with a lint-free microfiber cloth.
4. Use a four-pass pattern: up-and-down, side-to-side, 45°, −45°.
5. Apply 4+ base coats, allowing several minutes between coats for complete evaporation.
6. Surface should be dry and not tacky. Tackiness indicates excess product or insufficient wiping.

Touch-ups / Reapplication
If any area becomes flawed or contaminated, re-clean and re-seal before applying release.

Safety & Storage

• Contains flammable solvents—use only in well-ventilated areas.
• Store in a cool, dry place and keep the container tightly closed.
