Description

Vacuum Resin Trap / Catch Pot – Stainless Steel, 2 Quart

Protect your vacuum pump from accidental resin ingestion during infusion and bagging. This 2-quart stainless-steel catch pot is placed between the part and the pump to create a safe drop-out chamber for stray resin. The clear acrylic lid and high-visibility gauge make it easy to monitor the pot in real time, while the industrial silicone gasket provides a fast, reliable seal that is reversible to extend service life.

Why you want a catch pot

  • Creates a break in the line so excess resin drops into the pot instead of reaching the pump
  • Protects expensive vacuum pumps, filters, and downstream plumbing
  • Clear lid lets you see the fill level and react before overflow
  • Quick to open/clean; apply a light mold release inside for easy resin puck removal

What’s included

  • 2-quart stainless-steel chamber
  • Clear acrylic lid with industrial-grade silicone gasket (reversible; ~60A durometer; seal rated to approx. 390–392 °F)
  • Glycerin-filled vacuum gauge (ships unregulated; stabilize needle on first use)
  • Vacuum release valve and vacuum connect valve
  • 1/4" female-flare universal pump adapter for 1/4" ID vacuum hose
  • 5 ft clear steel-reinforced vacuum hose

Specifications

  • Capacity: 2 Qt (1.9 L)
  • Chamber material: Stainless steel
  • Lid material: Clear acrylic
  • Gasket: Silicone, reversible, ~60A durometer, ~390–392 °F max seal temp
  • Internal dimensions (approx.): 4.75" diameter × 6.5" deep
  • Max vacuum (typical): near full vacuum at sea level (gauge indication)
  • Hose size: 1/4" ID (steel-reinforced hose included)

Good practice

  • Apply a light mold release to the chamber interior before use for easier cleanout.
  • Place the trap at a low point relative to the line so gravity helps resin drop out.
  • Regularly monitor the clear lid and gauge during infusion.
