Composite Envisions Infusion Resin
Description
Composite Envisions Infusion Resin – Next-Gen Low-Viscosity Epoxy for Vacuum Infusion & VARTM
Composite Envisions Infusion Resin is our next-generation, house-brand epoxy formulated specifically for vacuum infusion and VARTM. Engineered for fast, uniform fiber wet-out and maximum open time, it produces high-quality, low-void laminates across carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aramid (Kevlar®) reinforcements. Extensive internal testing and data development deliver a stable, easy-to-run system with excellent mechanicals and elevated Heat-Deflection Temperature (HDT) when post-cured.
Key Features
- Ultra-low viscosity for rapid, consistent infusion through dense stacks and complex geometries.
- High thermal capability with optional post-cure to boost HDT for elevated-temperature service.
- Ultra-clear system with excellent fiber wet-out and minimized print-through.
- Enhanced degassing behavior to help reduce voids and improve surface finish.
- Adjustable speed: Pair with Composite Envisions Infusion Hardeners – Slow, Medium, Fast (sold separately) or blend to tune gel time.
- No HAZMAT fee on small kits for cost-effective purchasing and shipping (where applicable).
- Backed by data: Robust in-house testing and technical documentation for confident processing.
Available Package Sizes (Resin Component)
- 0.75 Gallon
5 Gallon
Recommended Hardeners (Sold Separately)
- Fast – For smaller parts, cooler shops, or quick turnarounds.
- Medium – Balanced open time for day-to-day infusion jobs.
- Slow – Extended pot life for larger or thicker laminates and warmer conditions.
Tip: Our Infusion Hardeners are available in 0.25 gal and 1.6 gal sizes and can be blended to achieve intermediate gel times.
Mixing & Use
- Mix only with Composite Envisions Infusion Hardeners (Slow/Medium/Fast) at the specified ratio (see TDS).
- Condition resin and hardener to 68–77 °F (20–25 °C) for predictable viscosity and flow.
- Measure accurately and mix for ~3 minutes with a low-speed mixer; scrape sides and bottom to ensure uniformity and reduce air.
- Plan feed lines, flow media, peel ply, and vacuum strategy to achieve full, even wet-out; use a resin catch-pot.
- For elevated-temperature service, perform a controlled post-cure per the TDS to reach target HDT.
Applications
- Hulls, decks, bulkheads, spars, and high-area marine laminates
- Automotive & motorsports body panels, aero panels, and structural skins
- Industrial/architectural panels and composite structures requiring low voids and high cosmetics
Resin Only: Hardeners sold separately. Always consult the current Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for mix ratios, gel times, post-cure schedules, and safety requirements.
