Frekote 700-NC Industrial Mold Release

Frekote 700-NC is a high-performance, wipe-on/wipe-off mold release for hand layup, vacuum bagging, vacuum infusion, RTM, and autoclave processes. It’s the same release we use in-house for plates and veneer sheets. For best results, use over Frekote FMS Sealer. Approximate shelf life: 9 months

Application Instructions

Mold Preparation

• Surface must be clean and free of wax, previous releases, and contaminants.
• Apply Frekote FMS Sealer first; then apply 700-NC over the sealed surface.

Applying 700-NC

1. With a low-lint paper towel or microfiber, apply a thin, continuous wet film.
2. Work in small areas. Do not re-wipe until the solvent has flashed off.
3. Within seconds, wipe the area clean with a lint-free microfiber cloth.
4. Use a four-pass pattern for full coverage:
   • Up-and-down
   • Side-to-side
   • 45° angle
   • −45° angle

Allow each coat to dry completely before the next. The film should be dry and not tacky. If tacky, too much product was applied or the surface wasn’t wiped sufficiently.

Re-Coating

• Re-coat at least once after each demolding pull for best performance.
• As the mold becomes conditioned, additional coats may be needed.
• Apply touch-up coats as required to minimize resin attack and buildup.

Safety & Storage

• Contains flammable solvents—use only in well-ventilated areas.
• Store in a cool, dry place; keep the container tightly closed.
