Description
RDR-6002 Epoxy Putty Part A – Tooling Dough for Fast, Accurate Mold Building
Premium Resin Tech RDR-6002 Epoxy Putty Part A is the “A-side” of a 2-part epoxy tooling putty system designed to quickly and efficiently produce high-quality molds. When mixed 1:1 by volume with the matching hardener (RDH-6002 Part B), this tooling dough can be pressed directly over a plug to create precise tooling surfaces without the time, labor, and waste of traditional hand-layup methods.
This epoxy tooling putty is unique in mold making because it allows you to adjust viscosity on the fly. By varying how aggressively the material is worked as it is combined with the hardener, micro bubbles are collapsed and the putty becomes less viscous, allowing it to flow into fine details or build thickness where needed. Once cured, RDR-6002/RDH-6002 can be machined, drilled, or tapped, making it ideal for precision molds, fixtures, and tooling components.
Key Features & Benefits
- Fast mold production: pressable tooling dough drastically reduces labor versus traditional layup.
- Adjustable viscosity: work the material to tailor flow and body for your specific molding or filling needs.
- High temperature performance: can be formulated for service temperatures up to 200°F depending on the hardener and post-cure schedule.
- Machinable tooling surface: cured putty can be machined, drilled, tapped, or trimmed for final accuracy.
- Excellent dimensional stability: designed for demanding industrial and composite tooling environments.
- Long working time: RDR-6002 with RDH-6002 mixed at 1:1 provides a pot life of approximately 120 minutes at room temperature.
