RDR-2250 High Temperature Laminating Resin - Aluminum
Description
RDR-2250 High Temperature Laminating Resin – Aluminum
RDR-2250 is a clear, rigid high temperature laminating epoxy resin from Premium Resin Tech, designed for tooling and structural composite laminates that must withstand elevated service temperatures. This system cures at room temperature and, with proper post-cure, delivers excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability for repeated use in demanding manufacturing environments.
Formulated for use with Premium Resin Tech high temperature hardeners, RDR-2250 provides smooth wet-out on fiberglass, carbon fiber, and other reinforcements while maintaining high gloss and strong mechanical properties. It is recommended for high temperature laminating up to 325 °F when fully post-cured according to the Technical Data Sheet.
Key Features
- High temperature capable: room-temperature cure with post-cure for maximum thermal performance up to 325 °F (HDT depends on hardener).
- Rigid, dimensionally stable matrix suitable for tooling, fixtures, and high-temperature composite parts.
- Excellent wet-out and adhesion on fiberglass, carbon, and other common reinforcement fabrics.
- Clear laminating resin that helps reveal fabric details and detect dry spots or voids during layup.
- Designed for repeated use in manufacturing environments where tools see multiple heat cycles.
- Engineered & manufactured in the USA for consistent, high-quality performance.
Compatible Hardeners (Sold Separately)
- RDH-9234 Room Temperature / High Temperature Hardener – pot life ~165 minutes at 72 °F and heat distortion temperature around 320 °F.
- RDH-9106 High Temperature Slow Cure Hardener – pot life ~90 minutes at 72 °F and heat distortion temperature around 300 °F.
Available Package Sizes
- 10 lbs
- 50 lbs (approx. 5 gallons)
Sold by weight: all containers are sold in pounds to ensure accurate metering and mix ratios (8 lbs ≈ 1 gallon as a general reference).
Mixing & Use
- Mix only with RDH-9234 or RDH-9106 hardeners at the specified ratio by weight (see product TDS).
- Bring resin and hardener to shop temperature before mixing for predictable viscosity and cure.
- Measure by weight and blend thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the container to achieve a uniform mixture.
- Apply as a laminating system for molds, tools, and high-temperature composite components.
- To reach ultimate mechanical and thermal properties, follow the recommended post-cure schedule in the TDS.
Typical Applications
- High temperature composite tooling, molds, and fixtures.
- Structural laminates exposed to elevated processing or service temperatures.
- Automotive, aerospace, and industrial components requiring rigid, heat-resistant epoxy laminates.
