RDR-3121-RTM High Impact/High Temp Vacuum Infusion Epoxy
Description
RDR-3121-RTM High Impact / High Temp Vacuum Infusion Epoxy
RDR-3121-RTM is a tough, high-impact, room-temperature curable epoxy system engineered for vacuum infusion and RTM processes where elevated-temperature service is required. It delivers excellent wet-out and adhesion on carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aramid (Kevlar®) reinforcements, with stable physicals and clear cosmetics. When paired with the compatible RTM hardeners below, the system offers controllable pot life and heat distortion temperature (HDT) up to ~300 °F (post-cure recommended for high-temp service). Manufactured in the USA.
Choose Your Working Time (Compatible Hardeners)
- RDH-9234 – Long / High-Temp: Pot life ~165 minutes; produces highly rigid laminates with excellent flexural strength.
- RDH-9386 – Standard Room-Temp: Pot life ~35 minutes; balanced handling with excellent tensile performance.
- RDH-9386-99 – Extended Room-Temp: Pot life ~60 minutes; added open time for larger parts or warmer shops.
Available Package Sizes
- 8 lbs (approx. 1 gallon)
- 45 lbs (approx. 5 gallons)
Why Choose RDR-3121-RTM
- High temperature capability: Post-cured systems rated to ~300 °F HDT for elevated-temp tooling and parts.
- High impact & strength: Toughened matrix with excellent adhesion and crack resistance.
- Infusion-ready viscosity: Smooth flow and thorough fiber wet-out for dense reinforcements.
- Chemical resistance: Durable performance in demanding service environments.
- Clear, clean cosmetics: Stable physicals and low print-through with proper process control.
Mixing & Use
Mix only with RDH-9234, RDH-9386, or RDH-9386-99 at the specified ratio (see TDS). Measure accurately and mix thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the container. Pot life depends on hardener choice, batch size, and ambient temperature. Parts typically reach a demoldable state overnight at room temperature; for elevated- temperature service, complete a controlled post-cure per the TDS to achieve full properties. Observe all standard epoxy handling, ventilation, and safety practices.
Applications
- Vacuum infusion / RTM of structural panels, skins, and complex geometries.
- Automotive and motorsports components requiring impact resistance and high heat tolerance.
- Tooling facesheets, fixtures, and industrial parts used near elevated temperatures.
Notes: Product is sold by weight. Use soon after purchase for best results. Kevlar®, carbon, and fiberglass reinforcements are compatible. Refer to the current Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for mix ratios, gel times, and full post-cure schedules.
