RDH-9302 Room Temperature Laminating Hardener
Description
RDH-9302 Room Temperature Laminating Hardener
RDH-9302 is a room temperature epoxy laminating hardener designed for high performance composite and tooling applications. When combined with compatible Premium Resin Tech resins, it provides fast, reliable cure, excellent wet-out, and strong mechanical properties for carbon fiber, fiberglass, and carbon paste systems. RDH-9302 is also classified as a high temperature hardener when used in laminating systems that will be post-cured for elevated heat distortion temperatures.
Key Features
- Room temperature laminating hardener with short to medium pot life for efficient production.
- High temperature capable: designed for systems that will be post-cured for elevated HDT.
- Excellent wetting and adhesion on Kevlar®, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and RDR-Paste-Carbon tooling systems.
- Strong mechanical performance: supports high tensile, flexural, and compressive strengths when paired with compatible resins.
- Production-friendly: predictable pot life and cure behavior for consistent laminating results.
Compatible Resins
Use RDH-9302 Laminating Hardener with:
RDR-1902 High Temperature Black Surface Coat (Pot Life ~14 minutes @ 72°F)
- RDR-1302 High Temperature Aluminum Filled Surface Coat
- RDR-1812 High Temperature Carbon Filled Surface Coat
- RDR-PASTE Premium Resin Tech Epoxy Bonding and Patching Paste
- RDR-Paste-Carbon carbon fiber paste tooling system (~15 minutes @ 72°F)
Available Package Sizes
- 2 lbs – approx. 1 Quart
- 8 lbs – approx. 1 Gallon
Sold by weight: all sizes are sold in pounds for accurate metering and mix ratios.
Mixing & Use
- Mix only with the specified RDR-series resins or RDR-Paste-Carbon at the recommended ratio by weight (see TDS).
- Allow resin and hardener to reach shop temperature before mixing for consistent viscosity and pot life.
- Measure by weight and blend thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the container for a uniform mixture.
- After layup, allow the laminate or tool to cure at ambient temperature for 24 hours before starting the post-cure cycle.
- Follow the recommended post-cure schedule (typically ramping no more than 5°F per minute) to achieve full HDT and mechanical properties.
Applications
- Room temperature composite laminates using RDR-1902 or RDR-3212 resins.
- High temperature laminates and tooling systems that will be post-cured for elevated service temperatures.
- Carbon fiber paste tooling and repair using RDR-Paste-Carbon.
Always consult the latest Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed mix ratios, cure schedules, and safety recommendations. Use materials soon after purchase to ensure quality results and proper curing.
